Spinning Through Walsall MakerFest 2025
We had the pleasure of bringing our arrows and energy to Walsall MakerFest 2025, a brilliant celebration of making, movement and imagination that transformed the town centre into a hub of creativity. From live music and dance to storytelling, pop-up performances, workshops and over 50 stalls at the Makers’ Market, the event was a showcase of Walsall’s proud heritage as the “Town of 100 Trades” and its future as a place buzzing with ideas and innovation.
For us at Sign Spinning UK, being part of MakerFest meant more than just performing – it was about becoming part of the atmosphere. Throughout the day our sign spinners were “dancing their way around MakerFest, taking audiences on a journey of the festival site”. With tricks, flips and dynamic spins, we helped guide visitors through the town centre, pointing them towards key festival spots and drawing new audiences into the heart of the event. Everywhere we went, people stopped, smiled, clapped and followed – exactly the kind of vibe we love creating.
Why Sign Spinning Works at Festivals
Grab Attention
Unlike static signage, sign spinning is inherently performative; it turns information into entertainment. That means your message doesn’t just get noticed, it sticks. In fact, 71% of consumers remember the message communicated by our spinners, compared to just 5–10% with traditional media.
Drive Footfall
We don’t just point the way, we pull people in. Placing spinners in high-traffic areas stops passers-by in their tracks and actively drives them towards stages, workshops, or vendors. Our clients have reported up to 46% more revenue on campaign days thanks to the lift in footfall we create.
Create Buzz & Virality
Our performances are magnetic – people can’t resist filming, sharing, and posting what they see. That means every spin, flip and trick has the potential to go viral and amplify your festival’s reach without any extra media spend. With 100% of audiences perceiving spinning as an advertising medium, it becomes both spectacle and social content in one.
Increase Awareness
Custom-branded arrows featuring festival signage, sponsor logos or campaign messages ensure visibility across the whole site. We make sure your message isn’t just seen once, but carried throughout the festival day as our performers move with the crowd and interact with audiences of all ages.
A huge thank you to the MakerFest team, Walsall Council and Arts Council England for putting on such a vibrant day, and to everyone who stopped to spin, cheer, or follow our arrows. We loved being part of this bold, welcoming festival and can’t wait to spin our way through the next one.
